Refocus and Stand firm
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” [Ephesians 6:11-12 NIV]
One of those days.
When everyone is grumpy and on edge.
When you can just feel the tension in the air.
When you wake up and your mind is just bombarded with negative thoughts.
And you feel anxious.
When your patience’s level is low.
You feel overwhelmed and exhausted.
And everyone is just argumentative.
This is when we have to remember [Ephesians 6:11-12] we have to REFOCUS and put our attention to the real problem [ the enemy is attacking.]
We need to learn how to recognize the enemies attacks and stand against them.
Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:11-12 how to stand firm against the enemy, all we have to do is simply [Put on the full armor of God]
In Ephesians 6:14-17 Paul tells us what the pieces of armor are which includes:
The belt of Truth.
The breastplate of righteousness.
Feet fitted with the gospel of Peace.
Shield of faith.
Sword of the Spirit [which is the word of God].
Helmet of salvation.
[14]Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,[15]and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. [16] In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. [17]Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. [18] And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” [Ephesians 6:14-18 NIV]
Verse 18 says to pray in the Spirit on all occasions and be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lords people.
Occasion(s) meaning — a particular time or instance of an event.
We are called to pray in the Spirt on [ALL OCCASIONS] whether happy, sad or angry, depressed or confused. We are called to pray on all occasions.
Whether good day or bad day! We are called to pray!
What is praying?
Praying is talking to God.
Which invites God into your situation!
When you pray you are invited God into your circumstance! He hears you and He wants to help you.
So how do you stand firm?
Put on the full armor of God
Pray [ talk to God]
Be alert [ know you have an enemy who wants to make your live miserable]
So the next time you are having a bad day! And things aren’t going to well and there seems to be tension. And you can just feel the anxiety and worry weighing heavy on you.
Take a step back and refocus!
Refocus meaning — adjust the focus of (a lens or one's eyes).
focus (attention or resources) on something new or different.
Shift your focus! Remember you have an enemy who comes to kill still and destroy [John 10:10] But also remember you have a Savior Jesus you comes to give you life [John 10:10]
Jesus has given us victory! Over sin and the grave! And that same wonder working power that brought Jesus Christ out of the grave lives inside of us. [ Ephesians 1:19-20]
So take your stand! Do so with confidence! Rebuke the enemy and speak life [declaring the promises of God!] put on your armor and stand firm!
May the peace of God be with you!
