The power of the blood

The blood of the Lamb overcomes

“Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” [Revelation‬ ‭12‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬]

As I was reading this verse two things really stood out to me.

1.We overcome the enemy through the blood of the Lamb [Jesus] and the word of our testimony.

2.The accuser of his brothers and sisters [believers of Christ]  who accuses them before God day and night, has been hurled down. [Rev 12:10]

The accuser is the enemy and he has been defeated by Christ Jesus [ the blood of the Lamb has over come death and sin]

These lyrics came to my mind, as I read [Revelation 12:10]

And I plead the blood of Jesus

The accuser has no ground

[ Adoption song by Brandon Lake] verse two

We are called to sing and praise the Lord with each other. So the song I am going to share with you today is the [ Adoption song by Brandon Lake] I am not going to do the whole song just the chorus and second verse.

[Second verse]

I rebuke any spirit that’s tried to keep me bound

And I plead the blood of Jesus

The accuser has no ground

And my future’s given, name is written

In His nail-scarred hands

And forevermore, I know whose I am

[Chorus]

I am adopted

I am beloved

It’s my inheritance

I am child of God

So when the liar

Starts mouthing off

I will sing in confidence

My adopting song

Whoa whoa

You are my family, where I belong

This song is full of biblical truths, and there is power in proclaiming who you are in Christ Jesus.

Here are just a few of the Bible verses that I think of when I listen to this song.

  • Ephesians 1:4-5

  • 1 John 3:1 & John 3:16

  • Revelations 12:10-11 & Ephesians 1:7

I like listening to this song and singing it, to remind my soul who I am in Christ, it encourages me.

There is something about praising God and singing truth over yourself that is powerful.

There are many examples of people in the bible who remind their souls to put their trust in God.

This song is reminding us of who we are in Christ. And what He as done for us.

Going back to Revelation 12:10-12

It talks about how we over come the enemy through the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.

As it says in the adoption song When we plead the blood of Jesus, The accuser [enemy] has no ground.

Remember that you are washed white through the blood of Jesus and that there is power in your testimony, your testimony is what Jesus has done in your life, how he has showed up and recused you, healed, restored, answered prayers and just simply spending time with him. All these things are part of your testimony.

I hoped you have found some encouragement today! And that you feel empowered by the Holy Spirit.
